MANOWAR: U.S. Tour Kick-Off Reviewed, Setlist Revealed

MANOWAR kicked off their U.S. tour on Thursday, June 2 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. The group's setlist was as follows:

According to one concert attendee who contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET, "There was a crowd of just under 700. Eric Adams [MANOWAR vocalist] came out and sang one song with the opening band HOLY HELL, which features Joe Stump on guitar and who have just been signed to MANOWAR's Magic Circle Music label. RHAPSODY made their debut performance in the U.S. with a full-hour set, including two encores, and received a very enthusiastic response. Performance- and sound-wise, the band was incredible and left the crowd chanting for more. MANOWAR played their standard set and offered the crowd most of the favorites one would expect to hear at a MANOWAR show with very few surprises. There was talk from the band a new song would be performed tonight but that ended up not being the case. Shortly into the solo midway through the set, Joey DeMaio's bass guitar went out of tune and he stopped playing and walked off the stage. He returned several minutes later and dished out a lecture about giving MANOWAR fans only the best and refusing to start playing again until his guitar was properly tuned by his tech. He mentioned he had a new tech from Colorado. Before the encore, Joey did his usual long-winded rant that was very entertaining. He said the band would be doing two or three more legs of a U.S. tour and planned to come back to Cleveland again. He did not seem too thrilled with the House Of Blues. He said on stage that the venue would not permit them to bring in their full lights, recording and sound equipment and that everyone who works at House of Blues would be working in a car wash if the bands and their fans did not support the club. He told the management, rather bluntly, to get their act together or they will not see MANOWAR the next time through. Joey also encouraged everyone to support MANOWAR's Magic Circle Music label and visit the website to find out more about their releases. Eric Adams, one of the most underrated singers in metal, sounded great as always. The show lasted just under 90 minutes."
